The Story Behind my latest album "Cardioflux"

Every track starts somewhere. This one started with a drum loop I made at 1 a.m.

How it came together.

  • The idea: Channel inner negative thoughts into expressive and enjoyable late night grooves.
  • The sound: Midnight driving music paired with witch-house aesthetics and low laying basslines.
  • The hard part: Finding the words to describe heartbreak.

Cardioflux comes from the name of my love song playlist in itunes. I thought it would be a neat tribute to take that name and twist it into sopmething with much more melencholic purpose.

The album cover is simply a used walmart-brand angle grinder cutting disk. "That you be an awsome looking cd!"

====THE ALBUM====

Out of Sight

The first track in Cardioflux. Designed as an intro for the album, its short for out of sight out of mind. You know, those weirdos who whisper in your head... I wrote this song in the dark, focusing only on other senses to find words from inside me.

Follow Me

This one is emotional. It speaks about nostalgia in a painful tone. I wanted to write about my longing to go back to what once was, a time when I was first place. A place that now only exists in dreamland.

Skipping on the Edge

This song is literal. I felt a surge of road rage and put myself in danger. Hatred and anger transformed into 6,000 rpms on the dash and felony speed.

End of an Era

This song reflects the emotions of every student returning to school for the fall. The silent brown leaves marking the end of summer. Short lived bliss molding into stress, deadlines, and poorly written syllabuses.

Friends

This song is based off a poem I wrote in my journal. It speaks about my lack of understanding how to go from lovers to strangers.

(Unkown Orbit)

This song is actually my other song, Transmisson Freuqency translated into Japanease.

Say Something

A truly sad song. Its a wish to hear even just a whisper from the one I lost.

Darksky Brightstar

When looking at the stars I asked the Lord why I was in so much pain. He responded that the more I wait and trust in the sky, the more stars will appear and the more full and beautiful the night sky will become. An amazing metaphore that uses darkness as a positive trait.

Go (OverHill remix)

A calm, picnic inspired remix of my first Hit single GO.

In case you didn't notice, this album is my ultimate breakup song collection. Driven by personal emotion and expression, every track is written to transform my sadness into expressive art.
